Random Pic's from the Yellowstone

I recently bought a new NRS Raft.  These pics are from the Maiden Voyage.  Not too much fishing. Mostly just setting up the frame and learning how the boat works.

Kathy Learning to Row

Little Shaky, but here is a cool clip of Captain Kirk teaching Kathy how to row on the Yellowstone River.

Harpers Bachelor Party

Spectacular River Bender!   Myself and 8 other dedicated Whiskey Fishers plied our craft on the Big Hole River for three days.  In all we floated from Jerry Creek all the way Pennington Bridge.  Saw the whole river essentially.  Click here >>>http://www.alabiff.com/albums_bighole3.html  to see the pics.  (No use trying to re-invent the wheel)

beautiful river,  Big Hole below Divide Bridge.

He wasn't big but he wad PISSED !

Mothers Day Rainbow

I caught this fish on Mothers Day at the Big Hole River.  I was fishing below Pennington Bridge.  It had a fucked up eye...  So I Ate It.

The rubber San Juan...

This a pic of the worm used to pick up the three fish below.  These were caught in early May,   BTW

I LOVE this tie.  It takes about 4 seconds to tie and works great

Catch Up

OK, well the Spring and Summer blew by so fast it was hard to take any time to update or maintain this project untill now.  So here is a look at some of the damage.  Beginning with 3 consecutive MONSTERS taken on the rubber San Juan worm while fishing on the Missouri River near Craig, MT.

Thanks to Captain Kirk for remembering he had a cell phone camera with him !!!

First time on the Missouri

Monday afternoon I pulled off of I-15 in Craig Montana and stopped at the first Flyshop I saw. Headhunters Fly Shop outfitter Mark Raisler completely hooked me up. I told him I had never fished the Missouri and didn't have a clue where to begin. "No Problem". He gave me a map, pointed out some easy access and told me to go get my fly box. He went through my bugs and told me what looked right for the river. He sold me a few local faves and sent me on my way. If you want to fish the Missouri, start at Headhunters. Great guys.

I caught several rainbows on top fishing with a size 18 Sparkle Dun in BWO. Had some luck in the deep pools with a big pink scud and a olive WD40.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. This might be my new best river!
